    The example in this text states that today's businesses are consumed with innovation, analytics, and transformation. Heightened awareness of sustainability, enlightenment, and about what is sustainable or  “green" thinking are a result of the changing decisions and behavior of business and consumers. Customers no longer turn a "blind eye" to save a buck. The new generation demands sustainability along with social and environmental responsibility. ISM supports this by designing procedures, and regulation, along with many suggestions, to carry the ideal of the new generation into old business. 

What does this mean to you? 
    This means that my business, as well as others, must adopt supply management and production procedures that not only include social and environmental responsibility but must also through innovation make it profitable to do so. 

Now, describe how these standards are being used in an organization you know well. Please provide examples to support your response.
    The school is moving from paper to digital; this is very green in itself, however, also, students run recycling efforts with all anything that is recyclable.  The kids are taking, the mantra on the campus is "Re-use, Re-purpose, Re-invent."
